Baker Mansion History Museum
As a unique heritage destination, Baker Mansion has welcomed visitors through its majestic doors for over a century. The Blair County Historical Society, stewards of the estate, possesses a collection approaching 100,000 documents and artifacts. Nearly all pieces have been acquired through the donations of local residents. The assortment includes a wide variety of items ranging from sports memorabilia, industrial tools, militaria, period clothing, and historic furnishings. The basement, first floor, and areas of the second floor are decorated as it was when the Baker family resided there in the nineteenth century. Other topical exhibit galleries focus on key people, places, events, and themes of Blair County life throughout the ages. All tours are guided by knowledgeable docents to afford you a meaningful exploration of the past.
