The Royer Mansion

Royer Mansion is located at 3909 Piney Creek Road, Williamsburg, PA 16693, which is 5 miles south of Williamsburg on Route 866 between Williamsburg and Martinsburg.   Royer Mansion was the home of Samuel Royer and his family.   Samuel was another ironmaster, owning Springfield Furnace.   The last descendant of the Royer family to live at Royer Mansion was Carrie Hartman, wife of Samuel Royer's grandson.   After Carrie's death in 1965, the mansion and springhouse were sold to the Pennsylvania Fish Commission. The Society purchased it in 1984 for $1.00.   Royer has two apartments (the second floor apartment is occupied by the Site Manager), a community space (which can be rented for meetings, parties, etc.) and has a picnic pavilion which is used by the senior citizen hubs of Blair County, and is also available for other groups to rent.

Tours of the Royer Mansion are available by contacting the Historical Society and making previous arrangements.
