BAKER MANSION SUMMER CONCERTS--Altoona Area High School Band

Bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy the great music of the Altoona Area High School Band. All concerts begin at 2 p.m. and are free to the public. Ice Cream and lemonade will be available for purchase. Tours of Baker Mansion will be offered at 12:30 and 3:15 on concert Sunday at regular admission rates. Come join us for a relaxing afternoon under the majestic trees.

GHOST STORIES WITH JAN KINNEY

Listen to true ghost stories from across the state as told by local storyteller, Jan Kinney. Since this program is based on historical folklore, it will NOT be scary and should be suitable for children as well as adults. Cost is $10 per person for a tour of Baker Mansion and the stories; or, $8 per person for the stories only. Children under 12 are half price. FARM DISCOVERY TOUR OF MORRISONS COVE

September 17th and 18th will mark the 2nd Annual Farm Discovery Tour of Morrisons Cove. This self-guided tour is a free event intended to showcase farms and farm products to those interested in farming. This year the tour offers eight (8) participants, with special events planned at each tour stop-- Friends Farm, Mill Hill Farms, Clover Creek Cheese Cellar, Piney Creek Greenhouse, Spring Farm Greenhouses, JB Tree Farm, The Idiehl Hunt, and Royer Mansion. This family-friendly event gives visitors an up-close look at agriculture, Blair County’s leading industry. Discover the beautiful country-side of Morrisons Cove and experience life on a farm!

GHOST HUNT WITH THE GHOST RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Explore Baker Mansion in the night and discover who or what comes out of the nooks and crannies after dark. Join local paranormal investigators Patty Wilson, Scott Crownover, and the Ghost Research Foundation and find out for yourself. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Cost is $25.00 per person. "SPOOKS & SPECTERS" AND "GHOST HUNTING 101" WITH PATTY WILSON & FRIENDS

These are the CORRECT dates. Both nights we will start the evening with "Spooks & Specters". This event starts at 7:30 p.m. and last tour is at 9:00 p.m. Tours will start every half hour (7:30 p.m.; 8:00 p.m., etc.). Cost is $5 per person and no reservations are required for this event. You rotate approximately every 10 minutes to different areas to hear ghost stories from the Central Pennsylvania area with different story-tellers. The next event, "Ghost Hunting 101", requires advance PAID RESERVATIONS. Cost is $15 per person. The class begins at 10 p.m. followed by ghost hunting until Midnight. Bring your own equipment. You will have a chance to do your own paranormal investigation after the class. Limited reservations will be taken for this event so reserve your space soon. Reservations required by OCTOBER 8, 2010. The historic village is allowing you a chance to do paranormal research in this unique site. The ghostly evening ends with an optional haunted walk of historic Bedford. TALES OF FRIGHT FOR AN AUTUMN NIGHT

"LET US GIVE THANKS' CANDLELIGHT TOUR OF ROYER MANSION

The Friends of Royer are truly thankful for the support we receive at our events, for the donations given to us, and most importantly, for the many friends we have made throught the years! We have decided to do a "Let Us Give Thanks" candlelight tour of Royer Mansion with organ music, and showcasing all donations we have received throughout the years. Light refreshments will be served. ROYER MANSION'S CHRISTMAS LUNCH

This is our most popular event. This year's Christmas Lunch will be on Dec. 4 at noon or 4 p.m. and Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. Cost is $10/person. Advance paid reservations are required. Dine in historic Royer Mansion decorated for the Christmas season. More info as it becomes available.
