| BCHS gladly joins the Altoona Public Library in recognizing and honoring the 150th commemmoration of the Civil War. Join us at the Altoona Area Public Library as they present Making Sense of the American Civil War. This reading and discussion series is presented by the ALA & National Endowment for the Humanities in libraries around the United States. Discussion is based on MARCH by Geraldine Brooks; CROSSROADS OF FREEDOM: ANTIETAM by James McPherson; & AMERICA'S WAR by Edward L. Ayers. The 5 sessions will be held on Mon., Feb 27; Mon., Apr 23; Mon., June 25; Mon., Aug 27; and Mon., Oct 22. This is a free program suitable for adults. Information & books are available for only 25 people. It is necessary to register. Please call 946-0417 by January 27, 2012.

| Please join us on March 10, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bishop Guilfoyle to support the Blair County Historical Society at the Rotary Club of Altoona Sunrise Annual Spaghetti Dinner. Tickets are $7 per person. This fundraiser will suport three local non-profit organizations--the Blair County Historical Society, the Altoona Public Library, and the Rotary Club of Altoona Sunrise Haiti Water Project.
